- is due to overheating.
-
- Buy a new power supply. You may be harming your computer when it overheats like that.
- My 1200 had the internal hard drive literally -explode- in a white flash of light.
-
- You need to provide more power to your system, it seems strange yes, but a faulty or
- inadequate power source will cause these problems. Accelerators eat power like crazy,
- and when a system is pulling its maximum power draw, it will get hot.
-
- A fan will help, but will not solve the ultimate problem of the overheating, just hide it
- by making your computer run cooler. A fan is a good idea, but if you have several
- peripherals attached (especially an accelerator) you need a better power supply. The one
- provided isn't good enough, and it may be damaged now because of overdraw (->overheating)
- which may harm your computer as well.
-
- I had a faulty power supply short out the Denise chip in a A500 once too - it can happen.
